A survey of the second half of the Old Testament (Latter Prophets and Writings), including relevant introductory matters, a survey of each book, major themes and interpretive questions and application to life and ministry.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of this course the student should be able better to:
• Articulate and recognize each book’s place, purpose, and importance in the Old Testament
• Understand and recall a concise summary statement of each book’s content and meaning
• Identify the major contributions of each book to the developing revelation of God in the OT
• Demonstrate how each book’s message is developed through its literary structure
• Equip Christians to recognise the progress of revelation and how this reveals the unchanging
nature of the promises of God.
• Identify the importance of understanding the OT for studying and applying the NT.
